Question:
Is my connection time enough? (IAH) 37 miniutes?
?

I've scheduled a summer flight for 2 from Salt Lake City to Newark. There are 2 connection stops. My main worry is that for the first connection we won't have enough time We would arrive at 10:34 am and leave at 11:11am (really hoping the lucky number is on my side). So a 37 minute layover time!

I bought the ticket from a travel agent online for United Airlines because I'm a college student on a tight budget. I've already sent them questions about this but I would like to know from other people as well. Anyone familiar with the flight or airport?

I'm hoping that since we are leaving from Salt Lake in the morning we will be on time and since it will be summer no weather problems. I've flown a lot and I know I'm being slightly paranoid but I want to make sure this all goes okay.

Thanks in Advance!

The airline does not want you to get stuck at a connecting flight airport anymore than you want to be stuck. The airline has does analysis to determine what is the minimum time needed for a transfer. Depending on the airport it might be 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

As long as your inbound flight is not delayed, you should have no problem making your connection. If you have an impairment that would make the connection more difficult, you should take that into consideration when booking the flights.

If there is a delay on your flight, the flight attendants know that people have short connecting times and will generally ask that passengers who have reached their final destination or have longer connections, remain seated, so the individuals like you can get off the plane quickly.

It's not very much time there. You need to remember that the gate for a flight will close some 10 - 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time if the flight is on time so you actually have less time to make the connection. If your initial flight is on time you should be able to make it especially if the gates are relatively close together. I never schedule connections that short even for a cheaper flight. In the event that you don't make the connection there are later flights including a direct flight from Houston to Newark that you might be able to get on if there are available seats.

When you get off of plane Number 1, then it may be necessary for you to run. Do not stop for the bathroom. It is possible if everything goes right. You will learn of your gate assignment and the new gate assignment, at the end of this first leg of the flight. I like to allow 2 hours between domestic flights. Your luggage is checked though to your destination so no worries there.

is it the same airline that you fly off with? if then, you should be alright. they have United Airlines terminal. if i remember it correctly, it is terminal 1. and plus, you dont need to collect your luggage and check in again. i think you can make it. just run.

but good luck, IAH is huge. xxx but within the same terminal should be alright (there is 4 terminals)

have fun on your trip! x
