Anyone been in Taiwan during summer where I used to be, would you say the weather is even hotter in Houston than in Taiwan? How many months of heat is unbearable in Houston, TX? Planning on moving there, but people said it's too hot there.

I'm a northerner who moved to Texas, and if I can handle the heat, anyone can. It might be bad your first year if you're not used to it, but you get used to it really quickly. Yes, it gets hot in the summer. But it's not unbearably hot. It's just hot and muggy. And the people saying it gets over 100 all the time--that's simply not true. Yes, the heat index (what it actually feels like) gets over 100 due to the humidity, but real temperature rarely exceeds 100. Maybe for a couple of days in the summer do you see temps of 100 or more. But, summers are long, so you have to deal with the heat for a few months longer than usual. But, then winter comes and you're so glad you're in Texas. Winters here are beautiful. No snow to shovel. No ice to deal with. Just cool enough to have to use a blanket at night.
EDIT: KC, aka Alaskan Beauty, aka Denise Richards, just leave already. You hate it so much and will never have anything nice to say about it. Why bother answering questions when you're just going to bash Houston or complain about something? Take Mizzhollywood with you too.

Houston is definitely NOT too hot.
But I guess it depends on what you compare it on. Nope I haven't been to Taiwan but I think it's slightly less hotter than Houston.
Heat is NEVER unbearable in Houston! Besides, do people really walk outside these days? We all have ACs in our cars, houses, offices, schools...
In winter time it actually gets pretty chilly, to the point where a thick jacket is needed. But it rarely snows, it snowed like 5 yrs ago for the first time in... what, twenty years?
Move there. =) It's the best city in the world!

Houston isnt hot as other places, as Las Vegas, or Phoneix their high is around 120 something over the summer. but with our high humidity it feel as hot as over there

Hi,i live in Houston,it can be hot at times, but not to hot that you can't stand it. right now the temp's are up and down.we might get a couple of days that are hot,a couple days of warm days, and then we sometimes get a cold front.but, at night the weather here can be extremely cold.so,you really can't go by people's opinions cause everyone's body is differ, and also have their own opinions,so you will have to judge it yourself.

It gets warm, it gets very humid, but it isn't intolerable. First of all, nearly every building is air conditioned. Your maximum exposure is probably going from your air conditioned car to an air conditioned building. Weather starts to cool in October and stays nice until late April. It is warm in May and June, hot in July and August, and warm again in September.
By warm I mean over 90°F. By hot I mean over 95°F.
Current temperature is 70°F at 6PM, a touch warmer than usual. It will cool off on Wednesday.

It is hot and smelly from all the oil refineries there. I moved to Austin from Cape Cod in 1972 and I never knew the heat could last as long as it does in Texas - it seems like it is summer at its worst year round. As to exactly how hot, one summer we had about 27 days of over 100 degree temperatures in a row. Luckily I was able to go to work in cut offs and halter tops!
