My husband and I will be moving from the Caribbean to Houston the first week of July. We will be renting an apartment and I'm beginning my search for power companies. We will be renting for one year and I do know we would prefer to have a fixed rate. I must say I have a horrible headache as I have no idea who to choose once I started to look at the rates on powertochoose.org. I'm moving from a place where there is only ONE company - so we don't have much of a choice and the service is HORRIBLE. Does anyone have any suggestions as there are so many threads on here about power companies that I wanted to get up to date recommendations. Thanks so much, I need all the help I can get.

I know it's a pain to have to figure this out. But you also need to speak to the apartment management to see which company they might get a good deal with.

I know of complexes that only allow specific utility companies. Finding that out might help save you some time and a major headache.

Just pick the cheapest one you can find for the fixed rate term you want. The service is going to be the same no matter who you pick. The power lines are all the same. Centerpoint Energy services all of the power lines and fixes them when there is a problem. All you are doing is picking which company sends you the bill. It can be a little confusing, but it seems to work.

Texas shoppers now have the right to determination. Senate invoice 7 surpassed in 1999 and deregulated the electrical energy market in Texas and allowed competition. move is an approved Retail electric powered service and sells electrical energy to Texas shoppers immediately from "The Grid." Your community electric powered organisation could furnish a common cost to shoppers for electric powered service called the "cost to triumph over" it truly is determined via the conventional public software fee. this provides aggressive Retail electric powered vendors, like move ability, the ability to furnish costs aggressive with the "cost to triumph over." you also receives a fee on your amenities. this is a multi-factor promoting and marketing software, no longer a pyramid. Why no longer be able to save $ on your electric powered to boot as make it.

I use Penny Wise Power https://www.pennywisepower.com/

It was the cheapest fixed rate (1 year) I could find a few months ago. You might be able to use Penny Wise also but it depends on your zip code. Good luck.
